The LVWC hosted a Japanese Team for four days having great interaction with the Lehigh University wrestlers, as well as our resident athletes. Leading the Japanese was Tatsuhiro Yonemitsu who was a 2012 Olympic Champion and World Silver medalist. Also traveling with the team was Sanshiro “Sonny” Abe who was a Japanese World and Olympic team member, NCAA Champion, and four-time All-American for Penn State University.
The group of 7 wrestlers are from Takuda University. This was excellent experience for all including valuable freestyle workouts.
LVWC would like to thank John Hughes for setting up this cultural exchange and making the trip memorable for the Japanese Team.
