The Board of Directors of the Lehigh Valley Wrestling Club announced the appointment of Kerry McCoy to a newly established position of Executive Director and Head Coach, effective October 1, 2021. McCoy opted to leave the California Regional Training Center based in Palo Alto, CA where he held the same position.
Under his quiet exterior lays a background of intensity and great success as a wrestler and coach. A classic late bloomer, Santoro earned one medal at the PA States for Bethlehem Catholic, third as a senior in 1984. He then won a National Prep title and Outstanding Wrestler award presented to him by Olympic Champion, Bobby Weaver, a good omen for his future.
Former Lehigh All-American Brad Dillon begins his 14th season on the coaching staff at his alma mater and his sixth as an Associate Head Coach. Dillon, a 2004 Lehigh graduate and two-year team captain, has spent the last 17 seasons as an assistant under Pat Santoro, including four seasons at Maryland and 13 at Lehigh.
Former Lehigh NCAA Champion Zach Rey enters his fourth season on the Lehigh coaching staff. A three-time All-American and the 2011 NCAA heavyweight champion, Rey returned to Lehigh as a volunteer assistant, while also working with the Lehigh Valley Wrestling Club, but was elevated to full-time assistant coach in December 2019.
Brazel has a wide variety of experience. Most recently at Vanguard University, Wyoming Seminary, Alvernia and Emmanuel College where she was the assistant coach in a program that was ranked third in the NCAA. During her time at Emmanuel, Marquez coached 13 All-Americans, two national runners-up and a 2021 national champion. Marquez also coached two 2021 Olympic Trial qualifiers for this year’s Tokyo Olympics.
