randy.cruz@me.com The LVWC wrestlers were involved in two events in the month of the December; the American Wrestling League held in Cedar Rapids Iowa and the ALANS Tournament in Vladikazkav Ossetia, a region in Southern Russia.
The American Wrestling League was an inaugural event which was drafted and coached by World Champions Kyle Dake and David Taylor.
Competing for the LVWC were Frank Perrelli, Richie Lewis, and Zach Rey, who came out of retirement to wrestle for the injured Robbie Smith. A great event for amateur wrestling and hopefully continues to push forward in developing a professional wrestling league which has success internationally.
Results from the event are below as there were several action-packed matches.

- 86 kg: Sammy Brooks (Team Taylor) dec. Nick Heflin (Team Dake) 11-4
- 92 kg: Michael Macchiavello (Team Taylor) dec. Deron Winn (Team Dake) 8-0
- 97 kg: Kyven Gadson (Team Taylor) dec. Jacob Kasper (Team Dake) 5-3
- 125 kg: Dom Bradley (Team Dake) dec Zach Rey (Team Taylor) 3-2.
- 57 kg: Nico Megaludis (Team Taylor) dec. Frank Perrelli (Team Dake) 7-2.
- 61 kg: Cory Clark (Team Taylor) dec Tony Ramos (Team Dake) 8-0.
- 65 kg: Jordan Oliver (Team Dake) dec. Zain Retherford (Team Taylor) 13-11.
Final: Team Taylor over Team Dake, 7 matches to 3.
The following week we travel throw Moscow Russia then on to Vladikazkav Ossetia. We had several days of acclimation and training in Vladikazkav. An interesting city with a great history of wrestling having many World and Olympic Champions. It is regarded as one of the best regions in the world for Freestyle Wrestling. We trained at the Khadartcev Wrestling Academy. A state of the art training facility as we got to train with Georgian and Russian Athletes. The tournament was loaded with many Russian wrestlers in each weight class as world champions and Olympic Champions went down early in the tournament.
The Usa Team Roster is listed below as Frank Perrelli and Mario Mason competed. Frank injuried his knee in the opening bout against Giorgi Goniashvili from Georgia and Mario lost an opening round bout to Alibek Akbaev from Russia, 2017 Ivan Yarygin bronze medalist.
